My last rant was poorly-thought out. I railed against "engineers" as a general group, and the truth is that I only went on that rant because I had just had a run-in with one, who wanted to organise the documentation differently from the way I knew it should be.

Well, I removed the rant because it was unkind and too sweeping to say anything useful ... it was a self-referential statement about my own intolerance. The whole point should have been written thus:

The only thing worse than an engineer trying to write documentation is a technical writer trying to engineer something.
