Oy vey ...
A few days ago, I mentioned how Aeroflot ended up jerking my wife around, leaving her stranded for 24 hours in Toronto.
At least one person I told about it gave off some rather quiet vibes: "Russian airline, unreliable. Shoulda gone with a better carrier, etc." It's an easy stance to take, however unfair it is to my wife. I mean, people don't like the idea that bad things can happen to good people randomly, so they like to look for ways to make the person's own fault. Thus, protecting themselves (or so they think) from those bad things ever happening to them.
Well, here's some new news for you Safe-World-Theorists. Some news for those who think my wife could have done better using a more -er- Western carrier: Our "wonderful", "beloved", and "revered" Air Canada has just screwed up her plans to return to Canada today. Yes, even though she ran as fast as she could from one flight to the connecting flight, the block-heads at Air Canada gave away her seat!!! That's right, a reservation means absolutely nothing.
Now she's got to spend another 24 hours waiting (!!!) for another flight. She's in Frankfurt—again, in a hotel. But this time Air Canada was too stinking cheap to pay for the hotel. Even Aeroflot did that much.
Air Canada: You bastards!
