Metaphor Mountain, eh?

So what am I on about? People keep looking at me all askance when I say the words, "Metaphor Mountain" but it isn't that strange of a concept, is it? You could look up the word "metaphor" in the dictionary if you wanted to ... here, I did it for you ... and I'm sure you know what a mountain is ... so what's the problem? :-)

Anyhow, to answer peoples' questions, I may still write in this blog from time to time, but I am not going to be devoting as much time and effort as before. My energy is (and has been for the last week or so) focused squarely on my new website, Metaphor Mountain.

So what is it? Well, it's a blog, but a blog written in metaphorical stories. That is, it is my thoughts and feelings, but with some style and window dressing. I'm tired of talking about emotionally irresponsible people and how awful they are and how great I must think I am, etc. And I'm pretty sure that most people who read this blog feel the same way about reading them. I mean, if I'm going to get all wordy with people, I should at least make it entertaining, shouldn't I?

So you may get much more personal issues at Metaphor Mountain than you did here, but the metaphorical nature of them might make them more like parables than journal entries. I guess; I'm still exploring new territory with it.

So far, I've put the original two Metaphor Mountain stories up, and two new blog entries. I also started an FAQ. Like anything, the site will probably expand and evolve over time, but at least I now have something down and on the board.

Why not go check it out? For friends and family who like to offer critical comments, go ahead and tell me what you think, but it is meant to be more of an artistic expression than a traditional blog ... so I might get defensive about it, or I might just completely ignore your criticism. That is another, lesser-understood (though well-known) part of the Artistic License :-)
