OK, some simple tenets to start:

When we see hate we hate back.

When we see love we love.
Ah, it's too easy ... things are not that simple in reality:
-
Sometimes, when we see love, we hate ourselves for loving.
-
Sometimes, when we see hate, we love ourselves for hating.
And then things get further complicated:
-
When we love ourselves, we love others ... but when we worship ourselves, we hate others.
-
When we hate ourselves, we hate others ... but when we hate ourselves we may pretend to love others.
