Sanding down the old paint job was not just to remove the paint flakes; I wanted to get a nice rough surface for the new paint to stick to.
And, besides, now I have a new powertool to play with. It makes really great loud noises, and has "manly" warnings about not operating it while on medication. (But why? Am I in danger of sanding my face off?)
